MASERATI and GIORGETTI
Could a car and motorcycle enthusiast like me not stop by the Maserati Lounge, set up inside the Salone del Mobile 2026? Of course not.
In fact, I stopped with curiosity and heart-shaped eyes, like cartoon characters.
As I write these few lines, I asked myself: why are some people attracted to sports cars, supercars, or hypercars?
I did a basic search on the Internet and the reasons basically fall into 5 macro categories:
1) Sensory excitement: the roar of the exhaust, the G-force of rapid acceleration and the physical feedback of the steering create an immediate surge of dopamine and adrenaline;
2) Engineering Masterpiece: designers and aerodynamicists push physics, materials and technology to the absolute limit.
Enthusiasts are fascinated by the use of lightweight materials (such as carbon fiber), advanced aerodynamics, and cutting-edge hybrid/electric powertrains.
3) Aesthetic magnetism: their sculpted, low, and wide stances serve a functional purpose—going fast—but the human brain also interprets this athletic silhouette as a universal language of power and desire.
4) Status, exclusivity and prestige: from childhood, these "symbolic cars" are ingrained as representations of success and important achievements.
Owning one or even just spotting one often translates into a tangible declaration of “having made it.”
5) The dream of escape and freedom: in a world governed by rules and traffic, these cars represent pure, unlimited freedom.
Even for those who cannot own them, they allow you to dream of overcoming limits.
To sum up, we can say that sports cars, supercars, and hypercars fascinate us because they represent the ultimate fusion of art, technology, and pure emotion.
They go beyond being a mere means of transportation to become symbols of art, feats of engineering, primordial generators of adrenaline and status.
Personally, what has always fascinated me about this type of car is their line, the perfect harmony created by the combination of curves and edges that makes them true works of art.
But also the power in the roar of their engine even when they are simply turned on and are stationary.
They recall the elegance of a lion, a tiger or a cheetah, ready to spring.
And finally, the good fortune of having once met, purely by chance, a master mechanic who told me how the engines of these four-wheeled wonders are built.
It was like listening to a musical fairy tale, and even today, when I look at a sports car, a supercar, or a hypercar, his words and the passion in his story always come to mind.
That's why, of course, I couldn't miss stopping at the Maserati Lounge.
Maserati has a long history and tradition of creating dreams and wonders on four wheels.
Maserati's automotive excellence met the essence of Giorgetti's design in a "Made in Italy" partnership that celebrated the pursuit of innovation, elegance, tradition, and unmistakable Italian style.
I conclude by thanking the staff for their welcome, courtesy, and the materials they provided.
Below you'll find their press release and the photos we took, hoping you enjoy them.
Enjoy the reading.
