Milano Fashion & Jewels 2026 - BEYOND BODY

This year, I didn't attend Milano Fashion & Jewels with the curiosity and attention this event deserves, due to previous work commitments.

Nevertheless, I made a quick stop because I was curious to see the jewel exhibited by the Lusso Mediterraneo Jewels brand at the Beyond Body exhibition.

It's well known how much we love this brand, and the work of artist Maria Elena Savini, hiding it would be despicable, but, unfortunately, her jewel was displayed upside down...

It can happen. Organizing an exhibition is always a Herculean task, especially for everyone working behind the scenes. I know, and so I won't indulge in insults that describe my disappointment; it would be pointless and unconstructive. It can happen.

We contacted the artist and she was kind and happy to send us three photos of her piece. Problem solved.

While I was there, I took some photos of some of the jewels that struck me at first sight, and also of the people because I must say that this year the turnout was remarkable.

Another noteworthy element was the presence of staff who explained the meaning of Beyond Body in both Italian and English. Believe me, this is not something to be taken for granted.

Below I've published a brief description of the meaning of Beyond Body, as well as a more detailed description published on the organization's website.

Enjoy the read, Gabriella Ruggieri for 1blog4u

Beyond Body explores the many ways in which jewellery and accessories interact with the body.

These pieces evolve beyond mere aesthetics, transforming bodily constraints into design, technical and functional challenges.

The artworks engage with themes such as metamorphosis, protection, memory, sustainability and the symbolic representation of body parts.

Some enter into dialogue with clothing; others challenge conventional notions of function: still others take on a social dimension, becoming wearable manifestos.

The body is never merely a support: it is a narrative surface, a territory for experimentation, an expression of identity.

Beyond Body is an invitation to look further.

Beyond form, beyond function, beyond the body itself.

BEYOND BODY

Beyond the body. Beyond the garment.

Beyond ornamentation.

The first exhibition of the BEYOND series, curated by Milano Fashion&Jewels, is dedicated to the relationship between body and design, showcasing accessories and garments that reinvent bodily boundaries, expand perception, transform silhouettes, and suggest new uses and habits, defining emerging trends. A journey through garments and accessories united by the same drive toward the "beyond": the body as a space for experimentation, language, and metamorphosis.

BEYOND BODY calls on visionary brands that know how to look beyond the traditional categories of the fashion system, where jewelry, accessories, and garments merge into a single aesthetic and design gesture. An invitation to create avant-garde total looks capable of redefining the silhouette, expanding the perception of the body, and imagining new style codes.

BEYOND BODY - BEYOND ORNAMENT

In 2026, Milano Fashion & Jewels launches BEYOND, a new exhibition cycle, opening with BEYOND BODY, curated by Alba Cappellieri. The exhibition explores the relationship between body and design through accessories and garments that go beyond traditional ideas of ornament.

Transforming silhouettes, expanded volumes and new aesthetic codes offer a glimpse into the future of fashion language.

For retailers, the exhibition is a strategic tool to understand current and future trends. It helps identify emerging directions, interpret the evolution of the total look and build distinctive assortments supported by strong and recognizable storytelling. (www.milanofashionjewels.com)
