CINGOMMA belts, backpacks,

As we always say: “can excellence be accorded with environmental friendliness? Luxury and green-thinking? It is, indeed, possible. What could be more exclusive than something that, as well as being fabulous and unique, respects the environment throughout its manufacturing processes?

This, for example, is what encouraged us to create and use the hashtag #SaturdayRecycling on our Social profiles and on our blog.

Anybody who has green ideas over the weekend can post something of their own or something borrowed from the Web that has inspired them and might inspire others.

Or you can tell us some names and we’ll go to browse and study to evaluate the hypothesis of talking about it on our blog.

A nice idea, do not you think?

So, if you are passionate about the environment and like to “do your bit” whenever possible, choosing an artist, a designer, a company, an event, etc., with a green soul: talk about it”.

This time we will talk about CINGOMMA, belts, backpacks, accessories and also furnishing accessories, created by recycled tires and inner tubes.

I came across the CINGOMMA laboratory in Turin by pure chance and above all out of curiosity.

I went to visit the drum school which is next to their laboratory and then, going towards the exit, I noticed, looking through their windows, some splendid industrial lamps hanging from the ceiling.

It's a kind of lamps and chandeliers that I love so much.

I was with some people, we had been out for work since that morning and so, at the end of the day, our only wish was to go back to the base, in Milan, but ... CINGOMMA enchanted us.

We entered and were welcomed so I must say beautiful and unexceptionable, by two people, Fabio and Mattia who told us the story of CINGOMMA.

It was not a scheduled appointment, they didn't know who we were, that's why I want to emphasize what happened.

The smile, the education, the availability (they allowed us to take pictures) the overwhelming passion with which they told us the story of this virtuous Italian laboratory made us stay and fascinated us.

Another thing that struck us: the decor. All around vintage (original) pieces recovered and brought back to new life, perfectly in harmony with their eco-sustainable spirit, down to the smallest details. You can see it from the photos in the Gallery.

Time has passed since our casual meeting, but it doesn't matter. If something, a brand or an idea deserves a bow and is commendable, it leaves an indelible mark.

A few days ago we reached Maurizio Sacco, the creator of this wonderful project all Made in Italy, which provided us with additional material and we thank him.

Every year, 380,000 tons of tyres are destined for disposal and that’s just in Italy. CINGOMMA does not want to live in a world covered by a black waste tip, so it has chosen to recycle this material, subjecting it to advanced cleaning treatments and transforming it into highly desirable clothing accessories: extraordinarily beautiful, extra strong, Italian… unique!

CINGOMMA has chosen to focus on local artisans, without outsourcing production and has decided to limit access to its E-commerce store to avoid conflict with its excellent network of local distributors.
